Rosso is modern-classic style of Montalcino, produced for those who cant wait for their Brunello's to be ready to drink. It is aged for less time to before release, spending only 10-12 months in wood and 6 months in bottle. The Bafi vineyards are on the southern aspec of the Montalcino hill and are on well-structured calcareous soils. A wine able to match the elegance and solidity of its elder counterpart with a freshness and directness that make it one of the most versitile wines within Banfi’s offer. Very enjoyable when released, it is also suitable for a long aging. Intense, ruby red color with violet reflections. The nose is classicly intense, fresh, and fruity with aromas of blackberry, cherry, and plum, which are well integrated with tones of vanilla and tobacco. The structure is ample yet gentle, very concentrated and harmonious, mimicking the aromers found on the nose, these are supported by a good structural acidity and tannins. The finish is surprising persistent.
