This is a Gin produced at Japan's Kyoto Distillery and Ki No Bi Kyoto Dry was the first gin to be made in Kyoto. Kyoto's fabled sake region was a bold statement of intent for this innovative outfit. Ki No Bi, "the beauty of the seasons", was inspired by ancient Japanese traditions and is constructed on a base of rice spirit and given a distinctive Japanese twist, featuring yuzu peel, bamboo leaves and green peppercorn. The more Japanese botanicals such as yuzu fruit, hinoki cypress wood, bamboo, green gyokuro tea and sansho, the Japanese mountain pepper are pressant, if you can find them! The label design is based on an old, traditional Edo pattern from the 17th century. Juniper notes and the Japanese botanicals complement each other perfectly and are rounded off by a finish with the warm, spicy notes of ginger root with a warming and spicy finish, this will make a delicious G&T.
