Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah

Oliver Zeter's red cuvée Petz comes into the glass with a bright crimson colour and reveals complex aromas of blackcurrants, ripe sour cherries and aromatic plums. Spicy notes of smoked bacon, black pepper and Mediterranean herbs such as thyme complement the bouquet of Oliver Zeter Petz.

On the palate, the Petz turns out to be wonderfully fleshy, velvety, fruity and powerful. An impressive addition to the Zeter portfolio between the basic red wine Tapps Rot and the Cuvée Z.

The drinkable bear with human traits on the labels of the wines comes from the pen of a Palatinate artist who dedicated it in the 1930s to his friend Walter Baer, the great-grandfather of Oliver Zeter.

The grapes for the "Petz" come from vineyards around the Palatinate villages of Hambach, Maikammer and Edenkoben. The largest part is Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, some Saint Laurent and a small part Dornfelder complete the cuvée. The Dornfelder comes from a vineyard with 20-year-old vines, which yields very low yields and extremely fine grapes. The grapes are fermented in the traditional way, followed by maceration for several weeks. Only then is the mash gently pressed and the young wine placed in used French oak barrels. The different wine varieties are grown and stored separately for a period of 10 months. Only after removal is the cuvée formed and bottled without finishing and filtration.
