Fattoria Le Pupille, Morellino di Scansano Riserva DOCG 2018

The Morellino di Scansano Riserva was the first ever wine made by the winery and catalyst to the success of Fattoria Le Pupille’s business. The Morellino Riserva is the full territorial expression of Sangiovese and of the wild strength the Maremma region of Tuscany has to offer. Aged for 15 months in large Slovenian oak barrels the blend consists of Sangiovese (90%) alongside Cabernet Sauvignon (10%). Le Pupille’s Morellino di Scansano Riserva is a great expression of ripe Sangiovese grapes, with scents of marasca cherry and aromatic hints that recalls the Mediterranean brushwood. Elegant and silky, medium to full bodied the wine is fresh but fully ready, with lovely ripe tannins. Perfect with typical tuscan pasta-based courses, red meat or game, as well as with aged cheeses.
